Dancing with the Stars is the main source of fundraising for CASA, and it didn’t happen again this year due to COVID restrictions. A group has been working together to remind everyone how important Dancing with the Stars is to the local CASA organization, which stands for Court Appointed Special Advocates, serving the communities of Routt, Moffat, and Grand Counties. Dancing with the Stars emcee Gardner Flanigan is host of the video which features many familiar faces. Watch the Video
Go to the local CASA website to see some of your favorite friends and neighbors in years past and vote for your favorite past star, as a way to support the Northwest Rocky Mountain CASA. They are hoping to raise $80,000.
In 2020 alone, the local CASA provided advocacy for 46 children and 226 supervised visitations in Moffat, Routt, and Grand Counties. Voting is open until next Monday, May 17.
Side Note: This is News Director Shannon Lukens. Thank you for supporting this very worthy cause. I was a dancer in 2017 with Melissa Cartan. I’ve never worn so much glitter in my life. We didn’t win anything that night but had oodles of fun participating. If you are kind enough to make a donation to support CASA, and you are looking for one name to support, feel free to look for mine in the year 2017. I’d love it!
