Colorado State Senator Bob Rankin and House Representative Dylan Roberts held a Town Hall in Steamboat Springs Wednesday night. The two shared the stage even though they said they represent different parties and different state houses, but they both represent rural Colorado. Rankin and Roberts were proud of the state’s budget this year, saying it was extremely bipartisan and that 95% of the bills this session were bipartisan. Rankin discussed extra funding for wildfire prevention and mitigation. Roberts talked of his efforts to improve health insurance. They both agreed that if the Front Range is going to keep growing, then those communities need to find their own water source.
They discussed the economy and impact of coal mines in places like Hayden and Moffat County. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bFtdmPrKzoU
