It’s Thanksgiving Day where many are home cooking and spending time with family and friends. Some had a hearty morning walk with the annual Turkey Trot through Strawberry Park.
Steamboat Resort is not open today. The opening day was postponed last week until this Saturday.
Since closing day last year, the gondola building was completely torn down and the gondola was moved. Loryn Duke with the resort says you’ll get to the gondola now through a new main entrance to the resort. It’s the walkway that previously went by the Sheraton pool.
As far as masks this year, they aren’t required in the lift line anymore. But if you are not vaccinated, you’ll need to mask up when you’re inside any buildings. Masks are also “highly encouraged” by the ski area for everyone inside. Elevator on Saturday, Nov. 20
In Steamboat Springs, free community Thanksgiving dinner is from 1-5 p.m. this afternoon at the community center, brought to you by Routt County United Way. It’s a drive-through where you pick up the turkey and the fixins.
There is also a Thanksgiving dinner day option in Craig at 2 p.m. at the Mathers Club. It’s at 420 Yampa Avenue. The free Thanksgiving dinner is brought to you by the Mathers Family and Cornerstone Realty.
Steamboat Springs Family Medicine is hosting vaccination clinics for COVID on Friday. It’s the Moderna vaccine for primary and booster shots. Call Steamboat Springs Family Medicine with any questions. 970-871-1323. COVID vaccines are also available at local pharmacies.
Kick off the holiday season with Light up the Night. It’s on the courthouse lawn Friday night. Santa will be there, along with lots of cookies and hot chocolate from area restaurants. Light up the night is from 6-6:30 on the lawn of the historic Routt County Courthouse.
Friday is Fresh Air Friday. Colorado Parks and Wildlife is offering free entry to all Colorado State Parks.
