Tomorrow is graduation for the Class of 2022 at Steamboat Springs High School and Moffat County High School. Those both start at 10 a.m. Graduation for the Soroco Rams in Oak Creek starts at 11 a.m.
Grand Old West Days continues in Craig through the Memorial Day weekend. The Browns Amusement Carnival is at the Moffat County Fairgrounds through Monday evening. There are concerts each night at the fairgrounds and the Colorado State High School Rodeo Finals. The Downtown Business Association Parade is at 3 p.m. Saturday afternoon in Craig.
Routt County Coroner Rob Ryg has announced his retirement. He has served as county coroner for 18 years. Commissioners will consider a resolution to appoint Mitch Locke as the new Routt County Coroner on June 21. Locke is the owner and director of the Yampa Valley Funeral Home in Steamboat.
It is Memorial Day Weekend. Saturday, there is a Flag Retirement Ceremony at Warhorse Ranch in Routt County. It’s at 11 a.m. and it’s also a potluck. This is for any flags that are faded or torn and need to be retired. A second Flag Retirement ceremony is at 11 a.m. on Monday at the Steamboat Springs Cemetery, hosted by the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. It is the 100th anniversary of local ceremonies in Steamboat Springs. There will be a free shuttle from the Stockbridge Transit Center starting at 10:40 a.m. that morning, to get folks to the cemetery.
In Moffat County, flags are being placed on the graves of veterans in Craig and Maybell for Memorial Day. The Daughters of the American Revolution asks that you meet at the Craig cemetery at 5 p.m. Sunday, May 29, to get your assignment and place your flags. Then meet again at 5 p.m. on Monday, the 30th, on Memorial Day to gather up the flags and store them.

Winter Sports Club has announced that Andy Michnay will be the new Freeskiing Director.
Winners have been announced for the Crane-Inspired Creative Arts Scholarships. For Written Arts about cranes, Emma Jones and Halle Hamilton of Moffat County High School were in 1st and 2nd place. The winner in Visual Arts is Reeves Kirby from Steamboat, and second place is Olivia Profumo from Moffat County. Honorable Mention was Katelyn Whaley from Soroco. Congrats to all the winners! The 1st Place winners of each category receives a $3000 scholarship, 2nd Place winners of each category receives a $1500 scholarship, and Honorable Mention receives a $1000 scholarship for continuing education. The Colorado Mountain College Sky Club has a Star Party tonight at Pearl Lake State Park and then Saturday night at Steamboat Lake State Park. It’s from 8-10 p.m. both nights. All are invited to explore the skies with the CMC telescopes and learn about the universe.
Moffat County United Way is accepting applications for their fall class of “Getting Ahead in a Just-Getting’-By-World.”
Tonight is a free concert in Elks Park in Rangely. The group is a trio playing rock-a-billy, punk, surf, and rock ‘n roll called the Tankerays. The show starts at 7 p.m.
