From the ski area, the big MusicFest tent is going up in the Knoll parking lot in Steamboat Springs this week so parking will be limited there. There is still some free parking in the Knoll lot and the Meadows Lot with shuttles is also free. MusicFest is Jan. 7-12 and it is sold out. Fifty bands are performing more than 100 hours of live music. It also means some free concerts each afternoon on the stage in Steamboat Square. This is the 37th year for MusicFest which the musicians and fans call “The Super Bowl of Texas Music.” The resort estimates about 5,500 people headed to Steamboat for the event, which is also why the airport is predicting this Saturday, Jan. 7, to be the busiest day of the season at the airport in Hayden.
