Moffat County employees and officials are working in the new county courthouse building as of Monday morning. The move has been completed from the old courthouse, into the new one at 1198 West Victory Way in Craig. It’s the old KMart building.
This is for all county offices, including the Moffat County CSU Extension Office. It does not include Moffat County Road and Bridge or the libraries.
The Moffat County Courts, Probation and District Attorney’s offices are still moving and will reopen to the public on Wednesday, April 19.
Commissioner Melody Villard says the move went well last week. “As with any move of this magnitude and given the enormous amount of snow we worked around this winter during construction, there are still a few things we are working on but overall, they should not impact the functionality of the citizen’s new Moffat County Courthouse!”
The building is open to the public from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Use the north entrance from Hwy 40. Work is still being done on the exterior of the building.
A Cornerstone Ceremony is being planned for Sept. 9.
