The Highwomen issued a surprised new concert album, which documents a milestone performance from their past.

The 20-song collection, titled Live at The Gorge 2023, captures the country supergroup’s June 11, 2023, performance at the outdoor venue in George, Washington. The digital release from band members Amanda Shires, Brandi Carlile, Maren Morris, and Natalie Hemby was accompanied by a fresh concert music video for their track “Redesigning Women.”

In an official statement detailing the unexpected project, the members noted that the record was born out of rehearsal sessions for their upcoming schedule. “We weren’t planning on releasing a live album,” the group explained, “But in preparing for our upcoming reunion we recently listened back to The Gorge, and whatever happened out there that night came rushing right back…the adrenaline, the near misses, the harmonies locking in at exactly the right second, and the sound of thousands of people The recordings sound wild, emotional, electric, human and exactly how that night felt.”

The track list features the entirety of the band’s 2019 self-titled studio catalog alongside over a dozen covers and individual solo tracks. Guest artists featured on the recording include Allison Russell, Brittney Spencer, and country music icon Tanya Tucker, who joined the quartet for a rendition of “Delta Dawn.”

The live drop arrived prior to the group reuniting to perform at the closing evening of Carlile’s Echoes Through the Canyon concert series at the same Washington amphitheater on Sunday. The band is also slated to perform together later this summer at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado.

The digital-only album is available to stream/purchase through the band’s website.
