Queens of the Stone Age have returned with their first new music in three years, unveiling the single “Easy Street,” a track that marks the band’s first release since 2023’s In Times New Roman….

The new recording features guest vocals from singer-songwriter Nikki Lane, whose performance complements Josh Homme’s lead vocal while adding a fresh dynamic to the band’s signature sound. Built around acoustic guitar, understated percussion and atmospheric synthesizers, “Easy Street” embraces an intentionally loose, organic production style. Homme said the band deliberately preserved imperfections during recording, leaving fluctuations in tempo and other rough edges intact to capture a more authentic performance rather than polishing the track to perfection.

The song arrives alongside an official music video directed by Tony Wolski and Christopher Gruse, with the studio version following months after fans first heard it during the group’s acclaimed Catacombs performances. Homme described “Easy Street” as “It’s kind of a funny song. It’s like hitting your funny bone, where it’s funny because it hurts and it hurts because it’s funny. You’re serious, but it’s funny.” He added that the song reflects the idea that imperfections are an essential part of both music and life, a philosophy mirrored in the recording’s intentionally unrefined approach. The accompanying video matches that spirit, following Homme through a surreal, humorous sequence of encounters before culminating in an offbeat neighborhood party featuring the band and an eclectic cast of characters.

Queens of the Stone Age toured internationally with System of a Down in July, and returned to North America for a series of stadium dates supporting Foo Fighters.
