HOUR#1- The LowDown is going on the road! We are proud to announce our new sponsorship deal with Moe's BBQ. We will be doing a live show on Sunday afternoons throughput football season and we are very excited about it. This Thursday edition of the show features a TNF matchup between two AFC East foes the Dolphins and the Bills. We break down the 12 point spread, and talk about these two teams that are headed in much different directions. The Denver Broncos have had a very up and down first two weeks of the season, they get set to face off against the Chargers and MVP candidate Justin Herbert. what is the Broncos issue? Is it coaching? Is it personnel? We talk about what is happening with Bronco football after a brutal loss to the Colts. I give out my favorite wager for the week, which is once again the Dallas Cowboys, as they get set to take on the lowly Chicago Bears.
HOUR#2- After wrapping up some Bears talk, where we compare the two first round pick tight ends, Kathy Elliot joins the show so we can bounce some college football questions off her. We discuss QBs, and two of the biggest games of the week. Oklahoma vs Auburn, and Michigan vs Nebraska. Kathy gives her insight into John Mateer, and Cade Klubnik, and everyone in between. Forquer and I discuss how the rookie class has looked so far, we get into a debate over Cam Ward and his outlook, and we discuss Ashton Jeanty the Raiders fun new piece as well.
HOUR#1- Michael Porter JR has been traded!!! Massive news coming out of Denver, as the Nuggets and their new brain trust have been busy as ever during the first couple days of NBA free agency. The Nuggets send MPJ to Brooklyn, they also trade for backup big man Jonas Valanciunas, and bring back fan favorite Bruce Brown. We discuss it here on The LowDown.
- NBA free agency continues to get down to the nitty gritty. The Milwaukee Bucks move on from Damian Lillard in a shocking turn of events. Teams in the western conference continue to build up more and more depth and talent. Teams like the Houston Rockets and LA Clippers continue to build immense foundations as teams try to continue to navigate the new CBA and the new financial horizon in the association.
HOUR#2- J.R. joins us (VZP Digital) to talk about NHL free agency, which has been arguably just as entertaining as the NBA. The big move is Mitch Marner heading to Vegas in what could be looked at as a potential tampering scandal. The Avalanche move on from Johnothan Drouin, and both teams from the stanley cup finals, the defending champion Florida Panthers and the Edmonton Oilers both do a great job retaining their core players for years to come.
- We talk some football, as a big trade just happened in the NFL. All Pro cornerback Jalen Ramsey gets moved to the Pittsburgh Steelers, in a fascinating move for one of the NFL's premiere franchises. Are the Steelers going all in? How much gas does Rodgers hve left in the tank? Is this going to be a farewell tour type of season? I feel like Pittsburgh may be a force to reckon with, but Forquer feels otherwise. Its July. This is the LowDown.
HOUR#1- Jeff Forqer is back and better than ever. My usual counterpart is in the studio to discuss the NFL and the NBA. The leading story for the day is Redskins wide receiver Terry Mclaurin requesting a trade from the team. We compare that situation to the one in Denver, where Courtland Sutton was signed to a very team friendly deal. We discuss the potential new addition of Michael Jordan in the broadcast booth, and Forqer delves into the Chicago Bears once more, with some head scratching headlines coming out of training camp.
HOUR#2- John Rein (VZP Digital) joins the program to update us on the NFL hall of fame game! We go in-depth into the Lions season, and discuss what is going to happen after losing both coordinators and their starting center. Are we still in on Goff? Are we still bought into Dan Campbell? We fill you in on the NFC north. Forqer and I wrap up the show with some nuggets discussion, Westbrook is still unsigned, and the future of Christian Braun.
