Routt County is reporting a fifth positive case of COVID-19. A female in her 30s has the virus. She has been placed in isolation through a public order. Those in her household are also in quarantine. Other close contacts have been advised to self-quarantine for 14 days. The first two cases in Routt County were out-of-state visitors who are now out of quarantine. The third case was a man in his 20s and the fourth a man in his 80s. Both are still in isolation. 47 test results are still pending in Routt County.

33 counties out of 64 in Colorado have not reported any cases of the virus. That includes Moffat, Jackson, and Rio Grande Counties.

The Emergency Operations Center is set up in Routt County, with locations in both the new and the old courthouse buildings. Mo Demorat is with the Routt County office of Emergency Management.

Demorat estimates about 200 people from the community are involved in the Emergency Operations Center, including City Council members and Routt County Commissioners, representatives from public works, hospitals and the health department, grocery stores, utilities. Also fire and law enforcement including police from Steamboat Springs, Oak Creek, and Hayden, with Routt County Sheriffs, Colorado Parks and Wildlife and Colorado State Patrol.

Yampa Valley Housing Authority has announced it won’t evict tenants or charge late fees on rent in the Fish Creek Falls Mobile Home Park and Hillside Village Apartments. Those late fees will be waived on rent for April, May, and June. The housing authority will work with tenants in the 120 units they manage, on payment plans.

A mule deer has completed her record long-distance marathon. It’s 242 miles one way. The Wyoming Migration Initiative has been tracking Deer 255 since 2016. She spends the winters in the Red Desert of Wyoming. Then she’s off to Island Park, Idaho, for the summer.  She starts the migration on Oct. 4 and it takes her 68 days. One more thing, Deer 255 is pregnant… with twins. Youtube link:
