People who attended two recent events at the Steamboat Christian Center are being asked to get tested for COVID-19.
The Routt County Department of Public Health has learned that multiple attendees of two recent events that that took place at the Steamboat Christian Center have been diagnosed with COVID-19. These events were the Come As You Are Fundraiser and Graduation on Friday, May 7, and the JED Talk on Tuesday, May 11. In order to reduce community spread and keep our community safe, the Department of Public Health recommends that all attendees of either event seek testing and, if you are not fully vaccinated against COVID-19, self-quarantine through Friday, May 21, 2021.
Public health staff will communicate directly to all known close contacts of the persons with COVID-19. However, Public Health has limited information at this time and is unable to ascertain all contacts. Please contact Routt County Public Health at 970-870-5341 for additional information.
If you develop symptoms consistent with COVID-19:
- Follow isolation instructions.
- Get tested.
- Stay home from work/school and avoid other activities around other people.
- Seek medical care and testing for COVID-19, calling your doctor before you show up.
To help the community, please share this information with anyone you know that attended the Come As You Are Fundraiser and Graduation on May 7, 2021.
Be aware that a negative test result does not mean that you will not develop symptoms or become infected after the test. A negative test result only means that you did not have virus detected at the time of testing.
If you have any exposure to COVID-19 and are not fully vaccinated, please quarantine and seek testing about 7 days after your exposure.
