
Yampa River Botanic Park is hosting the inaugural “Passport through the Botanic Park” on Saturday, June 19. Members of the botanic park can register online. Registration for non-members opens up May 22. The event is from 5-7 p.m. Saturday, June 19.
Passport through the Botanic Park is presented by Alpine Bank. Guests will explore stations throughout the gardens with food and wine, featuring the event’s signature speciallity drink called “Bubbles & Blooms.” Menu items include Colorado beef sliders, Argentinian beef , and veggie empanadas and Dolmades.
Live performances throughout the park will feature local classical musicians like John Sant’Ambrogio (American Cello), Steve Boynton (Solo Guitar), Belinda Rossi (Flute), a duet by Teresa Steffen Greenlee (Violin) & Elissa Greene (Cello) and flute trio of Katherine Knapp, Sophie Flam and Asher Komor.
An online auction opens up June 10 with about 100 items and packages.
If the weather is bad, the alternative date is June 27.
Once a sprawling horse pasture, the six-acre Yampa River Botanic Park is now home to more than 60 unique gardens, thousands of plant species, animals, and hosts special events of all shapes and sizes. An innovative experiment in private/public partnerships, the Botanic Park is free and open to the public from dawn to dusk, through October 31.
