Steamboat Resort kicked off their redevelopment project at the base area this week. They’re calling it Full Steam Ahead. Here’s Steamboat Resort President Rob Perlman.
Perlman says he expects Alterra Mountain Company to be investing about $200 million over the next three years on Steamboat Resort, with a new gondola, and the improvements and enhancements at the base area. Full Steam Ahead Details
Here is more from Steamboat Resort.
Construction of the foundation for the new gondola terminal and demolition on both buildings has started. Construction activity can be viewed via webcams installed at the base area at www.steamboat.com/baseareaproject.
Trucks hauling demolition debris will be working from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. seven days a week for approximately the next 30 days for this portion of the project. Hauling will occur on Lincoln Avenue, Walton Creek Road, Village Drive, Ski Time Square Drive, and Mount Werner Circle. Routes are subject to change.
Resort access will be through Torian Plaza this summer as Gondola Square and the surrounding area will be closed within the construction perimeter fencing. Shuttles will be provided during resort operating hours to transport guests from the Gondola Square Transit Center to Torian Plaza. As construction continues throughout the summer season, trails and activities may be impacted. Wayfinding details and updated base area maps, as well as current COVID-19 mitigation protocols can be found at www.steamboat.com/trailforward.
