Noxious weed spraying is being done for the next 30 days in Steamboat Springs. A private contractor will be spraying whitetop plants in the city’s right-of-ways. You can tell which plants have been sprayed because there is a blue dye there, which disappears in a day or two. The city is recommending that children and pets stay off the dyed area for about 24 hours. The city, and private property owners, are required by state and federal mandates to manage noxious weeds on their property.

If you have questions or need additional information on the city’s noxious weed program, please contact Greg Jaeger at 970.871.8274 or Carrie Nicholas at 970.879.1807.
