Residents at Sleepy Bear Mobile Home Park in west Steamboat are getting some help Saturday morning from Routt County United Way. Fifteen families there have been without power since an electrical fire at the trailer park in mid-June. The situation hasn’t been resolved for three weeks, despite help from Routt County Human Services. Here’s United Way Executive Director Kate Nowak.
Nowak is headed to the park at 10 a.m. Saturday, with an interpreter and some city officials to give more help to the Sleepy Bear residents who have been affected.
Routt County United Way has been raising money through their emergency support fund to help provide money and resources to the 15 families who don’t have any power, to help until an electrician can get the power restored. They’re thinking that will take another two weeks.
