
The 107th Annual Routt County Fair is ready to go. The theme this year is “Back in The Saddle,” after limited activities last year because of COVID. Here’s more of the schedule:

Friday, Aug. 13
- 8:30-4 p.m. Open/4-H Ranch Horse Versatility
- 6-8 p.m. Freestyle Reinage/Dressage
Saturday, Aug. 14
- 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Open Horse Show in the Outdoor Arena
- 6 p.m. Duck Sorting and Ranch Sorting in the Outdoor Arena
Sunday, Aug. 15
- 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. the Open Horse Show Sunday in the Outdoor Arena
Monday, Aug. 16
- 9 a.m. 4-H Western Horse Show in the Outdoor Arena
Tuesday, Aug. 17
- 8:30 a.m. 4-H Dog Show
- 9 a.m. 4-H English Horse Show
- Noon is 4-H Gymkhana in the Outdoor Arena
- 8 p.m. is the 4-H/FFA Dance at the Midway

- 3 p.m. 4-H/FFA Breeding Swine, Swine Showmanship, and Market Swine Show (after showmanship)
- 10 a.m.-6 p.m. is the FM Light & Sons Ag Experience in the Lockhart Barn
- 6:30 p.m. Steamboat Motors Power Wheels Derby at the Midway
- 7:30 p.m. Team & Muley Roping in the Outdoor Arena
Thursday, Aug. 19
- 7-11 p.m. Back in the Saddle Bonfire in the Outdoor Arena
- 12:30 p.m. Bucket Calf Show and Dairy/Beef Breeding Show
- 4-H/FFA Beef Show at 2 p.m. in the Showmanship Market
- 5-10 p.m. Beer Garden in the Outdoor Arena
- 7-11 p.m. is the Mountain Valley Bank Bonfire in the Outdoor Arena
Friday, Aug. 20
- 9 a.m. 4-H/FFA Llama Show
- 9 a.m. Cloverbud for a Day at Exhibit Hall. This is for day care centers and home child groups to take a tour of the grounds and see the animals; by appointment only.
- 10-11 a.m. Dress your Animal Contest at the Midway
- 11 a.m. 4-H/FFA Goat Show
- 2 p.m. Bum Lamb Contest
- 4-H/FFA Breeding Sheep Show followed by Sheep Showmanship and Market Lamb Show
- 5-11 p.m. Beer Garden
- 6 p.m. Wine and Beer Contest
- 7:30 p.m. Hill Petroleum Demolition Derby on the track of the Outdoor Arena

Demolition Derby tickets are on sale and the event will sell out. The Demolition Derby is Friday night, Aug. 20. (As of Aug. 12, Derby tickets are 53% sold out.)

The Routt County Fairgrounds will also have a set of bleachers at the grandstands that were just donated. The 300 seats of bleachers are from the old field at Hayden High School before the new campus was built. Those bleachers will be in the pits for the Demolition Derby.
