The Steamboat Symphony Orchestra has started a new scholarship for music students in the community. It’s honoring Mary Beth Norris who started the Steamboat Symphony Orchestra 30 years ago, in 1991.
The scholarship was announced at a fundraising event Tuesday night. It’s for any music student who is a graduating senior from any high school in Steamboat Springs. It is renewable every four years.
Donations are being accepted for the new music scholarship, which will eventually be managed through the Yampa Valley Community Foundation.
