
Roles on the Senior Leadership Team at Steamboat Ski Resort & Corporation (SSRC) have changed in light of the resort’s massive Full Steam Ahead redevelopment and the promotion of Rob Perlman to Regional Chief Operating Officer of Central Region for Alterra Mountain Company. Perlman will remain as President & Chief Operating Officer for SSRC in addition to his new duties overseeing for the four Alterra Mountain Company resorts located in Colorado and Utah (Deer Valley, Solitude, Steamboat, Winter Park).
“The leadership team at Steamboat is a solid group that has guided the resort through good times and tough times,” said Perlman. “My new role presents an opportunity for the leadership team to refocus their efforts to better align with our current resort needs and steer us into the future. I am thrilled to give our leaders new challenges to innovate the way Steamboat operates.”
Jennifer Shea has been promoted to newly established role of Vice President of Business Development. In this role, Shea will oversee Resort and Hotel Group Sales, Ticket Office, and Rental/Retail outlets. A lifelong passionate skier, Shea began at Steamboat Ski Resort in 2016 as the Director of Sales and has resided in Steamboat with her family for more than 15 years. Shea will begin in her new role effective immediately and report to Rob Perlman.
Jim Schneider is Vice President of Planning. As the resort moves Full Steam Ahead with the largest redevelopment in history, Jim Schneider will transition to Vice President of Planning to focus on project approval, planning, management and development. Previously in the role of Vice President of Skier Services since 2002, Schneider’s new team will include resort facilities and onsite project management, as well as coordinating with development partners to bring Steamboat’s Master Development Plan to life.
Dave Hunter is Vice President of Resort Operations. Dave Hunter’s title will transform to Vice President of Resort Operations to encompass current on-mountain operational departments as well as the addition of Mountain Coaster, SnowSports school and Happy Camp children’s programming.
Katie Brown is Vice President of Brand & Resort Strategy. Katie Brown moves from Vice President of Sales & Marketing to guide brand and strategy for all departments of the resort. Working closely with the other Vice Presidents on the Senior Leadership Team, Brown will ensure Steamboat’s long-standing brand pillars are the foundation for every decision made and keep resort strategies at the forefront of operations. She will continue to lead the marketing, advertising, communications, air program, resort transformation and sustainability departments.
Trish Sullivan continues in her role as Vice President of Human Resources. Trish Sullivan has led the Human Resources team at Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation for nearly 30 years and will continue to do so, while adding the new Childcare Center to her department. SSRC recently announced the goal of opening an employer-based childcare facility for staff by fall of 2022. The first step is hiring a Director of Childcare to oversee the development of the facility and the new director will report to Sullivan.
