Pediatric COVID vaccinations are being given to kids five and older today in the parking lots at Strawberry Park Elementary and the Hayden School. Roberta Smith is the Routt County Public Health Director. She says she is thrilled with the response of so many kids getting vaccinated.
Pediatric COVID vaccinations are being given until 2:30 p.m. today. Spots are sold out but there have been a few cancellations. Stop by at 2 p.m. and you might be able to get your child vaccinated.
Each child getting vaccinated in Steamboat is receiving a free book, courtesy of Off the Beaten Path bookstore. Owner Ron Krall was set up in the parking lot of the school at Steamboat Springs Middle School.
If you couldn’t schedule an appointment to have your child vaccinated for COVID, check with local pharmacies as they are also providing pediatric COVID vaccines.
Also, see the following from UCHealth: Gov. Polis’ recent executive order declared Colorado high risk for COVID-19 exposure or transmission, which in turn allows every Coloradoan 18 or older and six months past their second dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine, or two months past their Johnson & Johnson vaccine, to receive a COVID-19 booster shot. We encourage those eligible to do so, with appointments available via My Health Connection.
