Airplanes full of holiday visitors are landing at Yampa Valley Regional Airport in Hayden. Saturday has 21 commercial flights from 14 different locations, with about the same number of flights on the private side. Airport Manager Kevin Booth says they’re happy to be busy.

Booth wants to remind locals using the airport in Hayden to still get there early, which means to follow airline guidelines and get to the airport two to three hours before your flight.

Processing luggage and getting through TSA is what takes up the most time.

 

Saturday is Christmas Day but Booth is expecting it to be one of the busiest days of the year, with over 4,000 people coming through the terminal on Dec. 25.
