Santa Claus will be taking a break each evening to ride a fire truck around Steamboat. It’s his Big Red Sleigh Tour with the Steamboat Springs Fire Department. Santa will be joined by Mrs. Claus. The Santa Sleigh Ride Tour is Tuesday night through Friday night. Steamboat Springs Fire Rescue says to dress warmly and carry a flashlight, and stay out of the road when Santa swings by.
Here is the full press release from the City of Steamboat Springs, with the routes.
SSFR Big Red Sleigh Returns For Holidays — Four-Day Tour Shares Holiday Spirit and Joy Across Community
STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, COLORADO-December 17, 2021-You better watch out. You better not cry.
You better not pout because I’m telling you why – SANTA CLAUS IS COMING TO TOWN! Kris Kringle
will be stopping into the Yampa Valley again and is asking to use the Steamboat Springs Fire Rescue’s
(SSFR) Big Red Sleigh to share the holiday spirit and joy of the season.
“The North Pole called the fire station and wanted to see if we would be good firefighters by helping Santa
get around the valley,” chimed Fire Chief Chuck Cerasoli. “We didn’t hesitate to offer up our big red sleigh
so his reindeer could rest for the big day.”
Over the four days leading up to Christmas, Santa along with Mrs. Claus, will visit four different
neighborhood regions atop a bright red fire truck each evening starting Tuesday Dec. 21 through Friday,
Dec. 24, Christmas Eve.
Last year’s COVID inspired event was a first and this year’s tour has been consolidated to four
neighborhood areas over the four days. The parade route is anticipated to start at 4:30pm each evening
and may take approximately 60 to 90 minutes to travel through the areas listed below. SSFR will do its
best to get to everyone, but please understand that routes may change at the discretion of the driver
and that day’s weather.
