The official ribbon cutting and community celebration for the new Barrows Chairlift at Howelsen Hill was Sunday morning.

A full crowd showed up to celebrate the new SkyTrac triple chair, made possible by a $1.5 million dollar gift from SmartWool and their parent company, the VF Foundation. Nancy Barrows Gray was also on hand to represent the Barrows family.
The old Barrows chair was installed back in 1988.
Steamboat Radio was on hand with live reports. Here are those reports:
Angela Cosby, Director of Parks and Recreation for the City of Steamboat Springs
Brad Setter, Howelsen Ski and Rodeo Manager for the City of Steamboat Springs
Carl Skylling, President of Sky Track at www.SkyTrackLifts.com, who built the new Barrows Chairlift
Nancy Barrows Gray on the history of the chairlift. Her father was instrumental in building the first Barrows chair at Howelsen.
