
Nordic trails and the rodeo grounds at Howelsen Hill will be closed from 1-4 p.m. Saturday afternoon. The Nordic Combined Junior National Qualifiers are being held in Steamboat and the rodeo grounds is where the cross-country portion of the event is happening. The athletes will be on the ski jumps in the morning.

Nordic Combined Race Closes Trails at Howelsen Saturday — Trails Within the Rodeo Complex To Be Impacted By Competition
STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, COLORADO-February 3, 2022-Nordic trails in the Howelsen Hill Rodeo Grounds will be closed Saturday, February 5 from 1pm to 4pm for the cross-country portion of the Nordic Combined Junior National Qualifier event hosted by the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club at the historic ski area.
After soaring off the ski jump in the morning, Nordic combined athletes will tackle the Nordic course that winds its way through the Rodeo Grounds and crosses the Stables parking lot road, which will also be closed.
The cross-country venue will see competitors training in the area on Friday, followed by the race competition Saturday afternoon.
The city appreciates everyone staying off the Nordic trails throughout the rodeo arena so competitors can make the most of their event on Saturday.
The Stables Parking Lot will reopen at the conclusion of the cross-country race and prior to the Community Olympian Celebration scheduled later that same evening. If you plan to attend the celebration, please ride the free SST bus, carpool or park in town and walk over to the ski area.
