Construction at Steamboat Resort with the Full Steam Ahead project is impacting three areas of the mountain. This summer, the Steamboat Bike Park, the Outlaw Mountain Coaster, and the Maverick Miniature Golf Park will be closed. It’s because of construction of the new Wild Blue Gondola and relocating of the Christie Peak Express lower terminal.
Steamboat Ski Resort spokesperson Loryn Duke says the biggest impact for many is the closure for the fourth summer in a row of the Steamboat Bike Park.
Duke says Steamboat Resort knows that closing the bike park again is difficult but she asks for patience.
Work on the second phase of Full Steam Ahead begins as soon as the resort closes in the spring. Work will be done in the base area, on the snow in the promenade, and up on the mountain to Greenhorn Ranch, which will be the new learning center for beginners.
Cross-country multi-use trails will be open for access. But there will not be bike/lift access.
