Steamboat Police have been looking into claims of people getting “roofied” at a bar near the mountain. Being roofied is when someone hides a drug in your drink in order to rape or victimize a person, as the person usually loses all memory. Steamboat Police Chief Sherry Burlingame says they have nothing to validate the claims right now, so those claims have not been proven.

Either way, Chief Burlingame says to be very aware of your surroundings, whether in a bar or at a party.

 

 

Employees at the ski area were also notified in an email of the potential roofie incidents told to be aware and be careful.
