Work is set to begin Monday on 400 Anglers Drive. The site is being prepared for construction of a 75-unit affordable rental housing property. This is the area across from Sundance Plaza, behind McDonald’s. Yampa Valley Housing Authority expects people will be able to move into the new apartments in Fall of 2023. There will be strict income guidelines set by the state for those interested in Anglers 400. That’s the same with Sunlight Crossing which is on the west side of Steamboat. Over 800 residents have expressed interest that new apartment complex.
These two moose were recently spotted on the site where the new complex will be.
Here is the press release from Yampa Valley Housing Authority, issued March 23, 2022.
Preparation for Affordable Housing Project Begins March 28th
STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, CO, March 23, 2022 – The Yampa Valley Housing Authority (YVHA) will begin construction activities at 400 Anglers on Monday, March 28, 2022. Preparing the site for construction is the first step in building a 75-unit affordable rental housing property. The developers and construction crew estimate that the property will be available for tenants in the Fall of 2023. Arco National Construction will be managing the build of these rental units. The attached map show details of the construction site.
“With the addition of another rental unit property coming online in the Fall of 2023, we believe the Yampa Valley Housing Authority is fulfilling its mission in meeting the demand for local worker housing in Steamboat Springs. With Sunlight Crossing accepting tenants this summer, Anglers 400 becoming available in the Fall of 2023 and our Mid Valley property hopefully a year later in 2024, we will continue to strive to provide housing for our community,” said Alyssa “La La” Cartmill, Regional Property Manager, YVHA.
YVHA has already received over 800 residents interested in the Sunlight Crossing property. Any resident interested in a YVHA apartment needs to meet strict income guidelines set by the state of Colorado. The Anglers 400 interest list will not be posted until a few months before construction of the property is complete in 2023.
