Wednesday was the 25th annual Day of Caring in Routt County. Lacey Manzanares is with Routt County United Way.
About 300 volunteers from throughout Routt County helped with cleaning up and different projects throughout the county.
One project where volunteers helped was on the Community Garden being created at the corner of Pine Grove Road and Central Park Drive. UCHealth Yampa Valley Medical Center is providing the land and water for the garden. It will have 19 raised beds with some a bit higher for those in wheelchairs to work the gardens. Kelly Bastone is helping organized the Community Garden.
Bastone says they hope to have the new garden ready by early June. If you want to be involved and have one of the gardens, reach out to the Routt County CSU Extension Office. Find out more on the Facebook page for Steamboat Springs Roots Community Garden.
