The Mad Creek Bridge is out. It’s upside down and in the river. Engineers with the U.S. Forest Service went out there on Thursday and reported that water is going over it and through it.
Nicole Cookson with the U.S. Forest Service isn’t sure when it happened. It was already condemned for driving. She says it doesn’t impact Mad Creek Trail except that you won’t be able to do the big loop anymore. The Forest Service has a design for a new bridge but has to go through the process of getting approval and then the funding. She says that will take some time and it probably won’t happen until next year.
