Craig Police are searching for the driver of a 2015 Black GMC pickup truck that was involved with a hit and run overnight in Craig. Here’s Craig Police Chief Mike Cochran.
“We’re asking for help with identification of the driver of the black GMC pickup truck that struck three juveniles on Friday night. Please call the Craig Police Department at 970-824-6501.
Chief Cochran says officers were following the truck because it was driving erratically. When they tried to stop it at Tucker and 3rd, the truck struck three juveniles on bikes and continued on without stopping. They tried to catch up to the truck but lost site of it. The truck was later found abandoned in the 300 block of Rose Street, in the yard of someone’s home. It looks like it was crashed.
This happened around 12:45 a.m. Saturday.
The picture is of the actual truck, which is registered out of Whitewater, Colo. That’s in Mesa County. But Chief Cochran says the person they think may have been driving it has connections to the Craig community.
The three juveniles that were involved suffered minor injuries. One was taken to the hospital.
