Craig Police are searching for the driver of a 2015 Black GMC pickup truck that was involved with a hit and run in Craig overnight Friday. Here’s Craig Police Chief Mike Cochran.
Please call the Craig Police Department at 970-824-6501. The three juveniles involved were on bikes, and they’ll be OK. The truck was registered to someone in Mesa County. It was later found crashed in someone’s yard and police want to talk to the driver.
It’s Monday, Memorial Day. Routt and Moffat County offices are closed today in observance of the Memorial Day holiday. Also, city offices are closed for the holiday.
A Memorial Day service is at the Steamboat Springs Cemetery at 11 a.m. this morning. You can catch a shuttle up there from the transit center.
In Craig, the Daughters of the American Revolution arranged to put flags at all of the headstones of the veterans in the Craig Cemetery Sunday. 91-year-old Korean War Veteran Al Shepherd handed out the flags to the many volunteers who showed up to help.
There are over 820 veterans buried at the cemetery in Craig. They’re asking for volunteers to pick up those flags tonight at 5 p.m. at the Craig Cemetery, if you can help.
More rain and maybe snow at higher elevations, will continue throughout the day along with chilly weather. There may be thunderstorms tonight. Then the Yampa Valley starts to dry out at the end of the week.
Grand Old West Days continues in CraigMonday. The carnival is at the Moffat County Fairgrounds through tonight.
Congratulations to all of the graduates in the Class of 2022. Ceremonies were this Saturday for Soroco, Steamboat, and Moffat County seniors, who are off to new adventures.
