Colorado State Patrol is starting a mid-summer crackdown on DUIs today through July 20. Don’t drink and drive. CSP is out there along with local law enforcement. Through May 31 of this year, there were more than 1,900 DUI citations issued by Colorado State Patrol. Not only could you land in jail, but CSP estimates that the cost of a DUI is $13,500.
Mind Springs Health has hired a new CEO. John Sheehan starts in August to head up Mind Springs Health which is the largest provider of mental health and addiction treatment in Western Colorado. That includes Routt, Moffat, Rio Blanco, and Jackson counties.
Decontamination stations at 27 Colorado Parks and Wildlife facilities are getting upgraded a tankless system to better inspect boats for Aquatic Nuisance Species, or ANS. Of those 27, three are Elkhead Reservoir, Stagecoach Reservoir, and Steamboat Lake, with one more for CPW Aquatic staff in Rio Blanco County. Boaters in Colorado are required to get an ANS Stamp when registering a boat in Colorado so as to help protect state waters.
Colorado Parks and Wildlife Aquatic Nuisance Species
The Farmer’s Market in Hayden is tonight. There is also a free concert with the traveling Concert Truck. It means music and food from the Sage and Spirit food truck. That starts at 6 p.m. at the Hayden Granary. It’s in association with the Strings Music Festival.
The Oak Creek Library presents a discussion with Melissa Hampton from Opera Steamboat tonight at 6:30 p.m. It’s everything you’ve wanted to know about opera, at the Oak Creek Library on Main Street.
Then Friday in Oak Creek, there is a free Blues Concert Fundraiser is at the Oak Creek Coal Miner’s Bucket. It starts at 6 p.m. tomorrow. The concert is with the Treanor Brothers. It’s a fundraiser for the South Routt libraries and Tracks & Trails Museum.
The dirt road at Fetcher Park in Steamboat is closed tomorrow for dust mitigation treatment. No driving there but you can walk or ride your bike to the restrooms from the Core Trail.
In Moffat County, Craig Road and Bridge is tearing out the old asphalt and repaving Mather’s parking lot in the 400 block of Yampa Avenue, starting next Tuesday, through August 12.
