Craig Police have identified a man they were looking for in connection with some fake $100 bills. His family saw the pictures of the man on social media and called Craig Police to identify the man and explain how he allegedly came about the fake money, which was through EBay. Craig Police Chief Michael Cochran says the case will be given over to the District Attorney’s office.
Sept. 1 marks the five-year anniversary of Yampa Valley Medical Center joining forces with UCHealth. Soniya Fidler is the president of UCHealth Yampa Valley Medical Center in Steamboat Springs.
In the last five years, there was a $10 million renovation of the emergency department, UCHealth Specialty Care opened, YVMC has partnered with Steamboat Orthopaedic & Spine Institute to open the Steamboat Surgery Center. The UCHealth Craig Medical Clinic also underwent a complete renovation.

Tree mitigation work is going on in Little Toots Park in Steamboat Springs. There are detour signs up so please don’t go through that area along Yampa Street.
The 11th Annual Yampa Valley Crane Festival kicks off tonight with a film at Bud Werner Memorial Library called “Birds of America.” It’s at 7 p.m. Wednesday night’s movie is “Cranes of the Rockies,” at the same time, at West Twin Cinema in Craig. Then there are events every day through Sunday celebrating birds and especially the Sandhill Cranes which spend much of their year here in the Yampa Valley. The Steamboat Hoedown is this coming Friday night at the Steve Brown Barn on Hwy 131. It’s a benefit for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Northwest Colorado, which serves 1,100 children in Steamboat and Craig. Tickets are available through the local Boys & Girls Club website at https://bgcnwc.org/hoedown/
