The Routt County Master Plan has been unanimously approved by Routt County Commissioners. Four principles were developed after extensive community outreach.
- Protect our open spaces, forests, rivers, lakes, and wildlife.
- Conserve and preserve our rural, western, agricultural heritage.
- Direct growth to Municipalities and other Targeted Areas.
- Provide equitable mobility options.
The new Routt County Master Plan replaces the last one, which was in 2003.
Colorado residents who don’t have access to a savings plan through their work will soon be able to access a new statewide savings program. It’s called Colorado Secure Savings. We spoke to State Treasurer Dave Young.
“This is really important to people in Routt and Moffat County. We are working on standing up a retirement savings program for people in the private sector in your two counties and across the state who don’t have access to a retirement savings plan at work. This is probably one million people across the state of Colorado, it’s 40 percent of our private sector work force, and they literally don’t have a way to save for retirement.”
But now they will through a payroll deduction. And the account will stay with that person if they change jobs. You can opt-in so it isn’t mandatory. The pilot program for Colorado Secure Savings comes out next month and then is set to launch in January.
