The City of Steamboat Springs has released sales tax numbers. For July, there is an increase of 5.94% which works out to $185,352. Year-to-date sales tax collection in Steamboat Springs is 22.72% more than the same time last year.
Today is a big day for our local United Way offices.
- It’s $50K Day for Routt County United Way in Steamboat Springs. Swing by Yampa Valley Bank from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and there is also a free lunch.
- In Craig, it’s $20K day for Moffat County United Way. Stop by Yampa Valley Bank in Craig from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Yampa Valley Bank is matching donations up to $10,000 in each county.
In fun this weekend…
The Steamboat Symphony Orchestra kicks off its 31st season this weekend. The performance is called All Hail the King, and it is at Strings Saturday and Sunday night. The symphony conductor is Ernest Richardson. Tickets are at SteamboatSymphony.org
Fall Fest is in Downtown Craig on Saturday. Enjoy live music and vendors, a pumpkin patch and pumpkin painting, a pie-baking contest and a beer garden. The fun is from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Alice Pleasant Park on Yampa Ave. MORE INFORMATION: 970.824.2151

Constitution Day is being celebrated at noon Saturday, Sept. 17, in Craig. The Augusta Wallihan Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution will be ringing bells at the corner of Yampa Ave. and Victory Way, and you’re welcome to join. Wear red, white, and blue. The signing of the Constitution was on Sept. 17, 1787, which is 235 years ago.
The 2nd Annual Airport Appreciation Day is this Sunday, at Bob Adams Field in Steamboat Springs. Fun and activities are from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. That includes a Lions Club Breakfast and Family Fun Run on the runway. Everyone is invited to stop by.

- The Moffat County Bulldogs are headed north Friday for a matchup with Rawlins Wyoming. That game starts at 7 p.m. and Kody May will make the call for KRAI. You can also listen through KRAIRAdio.com
- The Steamboat Sailors football team has the weekend off.
- Saturday is a Sailor Soccer game against Palisade, at home at Gardner Field. That starts at 11 a.m. with Vladan Chase making the call.
- The Soroco Rams are on the road Friday with a game against West Grand in Kremmling. That starts at 7 p.m.
- And the Hayden Tigers hope to continue their domination with a 7 p.m. home game Friday against Dove Creek.
From Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club, David Norris is the latest on staff for the Nordic team. He is a former U.S. Cross Country Skiing National Champion and NCAA All-American.
