The 7th and 8th grade football teams at Steamboat Springs Middle School have their last games of the season on Thursday, Sept. 29. Both teams are undefeated and they’ll be playing Meeker. Here’s #26 Sailor Running Back Tyler Grove.
“I think it’s going to be a really good game. This team beat us last year. I think that over the season we’ve gotten a lot better and improved on our skills and I think it’s going to be a good game to watch.”
Both of the middle school games are actually being played at Gardner Field at Steamboat Springs High School. Eighth grade Head Coach Marco Cuevas says they want to pack the stands and for everyone to cheer for the Steamboat Springs Middle School Sailors.
“We need people out there being loud. For these 8th graders, it’s their last home game. So it gives them a feel for what high school is going to be like when you’re out there loud and rowdy and rooting them on.”
The 7th graders start at 5 p.m. and the 8th graders are right after. Once again, the games are this Thursday at Steamboat Springs High School.
