Jessica Ann Stahl was in Douglas County Court Friday. She is the woman allegedly involved in the Vehicular Homicide DUI case where 25-year-old Lacey Lewis of Steamboat was killed. It happened in Parker, Colo. on June 16, 2022.
Stahl has bonded out of jail so she is no longer in custody. She will be monitored for sobriety as a condition of bond that was set by 18th Judicial District Court Judge Patricia Herron.
A formal arraignment, where she will enter a plea has been set for 2 p.m. Dec. 16 in Douglas County.
Charges against Stahl include Vehicular Homicide DUI, Assault 2 – Reckless Serious Bodily Injury with a Deadly Weapon, Vehicular Assault DUI, Child Abuse – Knowingly/Reckless – No Injury, Leaving Scene – Accident Involving Death, and Leaving Scene – Accident Involving Serious Bodily Injury. Five are felonies and one is a misdemeanor.
Ballots will start being mailed to every active Colorado voter today. This is out of the Denver postal facility. Here’s Routt County Clerk and Recorder Jenny Thomas.
“Typically they start arriving in P.O. Boxes about the next day. We say if you haven’t received your ballot in about a week, go ahead and contact the office or come on in to the clerk’s office and we can get you a replacement ballot and we’ll make sure all of your information is up to date.”

In Moffat County, Sarah Colding takes over as Election Coordinator, under the Moffat County Clerk and Recorder’s office.
“The most exciting part about this is meeting new voters who come into the office who are excited about getting to vote. Them getting to vote is super exciting for me.”
Colding replaces Debbie Belleville.

Banners honoring Routt County military veterans are lining Lincoln Avenue in downtown Steamboat Springs. Seventy-one were hung on Sunday and a few more will go up next week. Most will stay up through Nov. 20, which is the week after Veterans Day. The banners cost $100, and many were paid for by friends and family members of veterans. People donated the money as a fundraiser for the local American Legion Post 44 and VFW post 4264.
Steamboat Springs School District Board of Education meets at 4:30 p.m. today at Steamboat Springs Middle School. You can also watch via Zoom.
A community celebration for the Lions Club Playground at Little Toots Park is at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18. It’s named after the Ski Town Lions Club which is celebrating its 100-year anniversary.
