Pizza Hut in Craig has closed down for good. A representative from customer service says the Craig Pizza Hut has shut down as part of a nationwide closure of stores. Tuesday was the last day.
Memorial Regional Health in Craig has been awarded $3 million dollars to be paid over four years. It will be used to expand prevention, treatment and recovery services for opioid, substance use, and behavioral health disorders. The pair of grants is from the federal Health Resources and Services Administration. It is a collaborative effort with Memorial Regional Health and two dozen partners representing health care, social service, law enforcement, and criminal justice agencies in Moffat, Routt, Rio Blanco, Jackson and Grand counties.

A groundbreaking clinical trial has started at Steamboat Orthopaedic & Spine Institute. Dr. Alex Sielatycki has performed the first lumbar disc replacement surgeries in the western United States, as part of the trial toward FDA approval. It’s relief for lower back pain without lumbar fusion. Twenty patients will be enrolled in the trials, which will take place at Steamboat Surgery Center through the end of the year.

Atmos Energy made a $5,000 donation to the Community Budget Center in Craig on Wednesday.

Then, they headed east to Steamboat, where LiftUp of Routt County also received $4,000 from Atmos Energy on Wednesday. Atmos Energy employees also volunteered to help at both local organizations.
There is an opening on the Routt County Fair Advisory Board. It’s for District 3 which is Steamboat Springs. There are nine volunteers on the fair board, and they are appointed by the Routt County Board of County Commissioners. Apply through the fair’s website before Nov. 1.
The annual Ski and Sport Swap is this Saturday, Oct. 22. It’s an annual fundraiser for Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club, and presented by F.M. Light & Sons. You’ll find the cheapest and best deals for gently used skis, snowboards, boots, and poles, clothes and sports gear. Early bird shopping starts at 10 a.m. on Saturday and that costs $15 at the door. Then it’s free to get in from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Pick up CONSIGNMENT TAGS at the SSWSC front office in the Howelsen Hill Lodge today and tomorrow. Consignment tags are five for $1.
