Election Day is next Tuesday, Nov. 8. Fill out your ballot and turn it in. It is too late to mail it, so you have to drop it off. Here’s Routt County Clerk and Recorder Jenny Thomas.
“Ballot dropoff locations will be at Hayden Town Hall, Oak Creek Town Hall, Yampa Town Hall, Clark Store. You can drop it at the Clerk’s office. Or you can utilize one of our two 24/7 dropboxes and those are located at the old sheriff’s parking lot on Shield Drive as well as the alley behind the courthouse annex.”
Moffat County has a 24-hour Election Drop Box at the Moffat County Courthouse. Here’s Moffat County Clerk and Recorder Tammy Raschke.
“Once you get your ballot, go ahead and vote it and then you’ll bring it to the courthouse, here in Moffat County, and that’s at 221 W. Victory Way. The ballot box is outside the courthouse on the east side of the building.”
If you never received your ballot, you can go down to the county clerk’s office during business hours this week and they will get you a replacement ballot. Or you can register to vote there. You don’t have to wait until Election Day.
Daylight Savings Time is at 2 a.m. this Sunday, Nov. 5. Set your clocks back an hour. This means it gets dark earlier. It also means more wild animals are migrating to the wintering habits during busy times on highways. Stay alert and share the road with wildlife. Drive with caution and slow down as winter storms can also push wildlife from the high country into lower elevations. A moose was hit and killed last weekend on Rabbit Ears Pass. More from CPW and CDOT.

Drop off your old pumpkins today from 4-6 p.m. in the parking lot at the Howelsen Hill Rodeo Grounds. It’s called Pumpkins for Piggies, and the old pumpkins are used for animal feed and compost.
