Turn in your ballot. You can do it today. Or you can vote in person. Here’s Sarah Colding, the Election Coordinator for Moffat County.

It’s the same in Routt County. Clerk and Recorder Jenny Thomas says polling centers are open today.

“You can come in and get a replacement ballot. You can vote on a machine. Don’t wait until Tuesday. It’s all happening right now so go ahead and get those ballots in. We’re open now and it’s all happening.”

 

Stop in to the polling center or county clerk’s office if you didn’t get your ballot in the mail or if you need a replacement ballot. It’s in the historic courthouse building in downtown Steamboat Springs.

Hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday and Monday. Moffat County hours at the county courthouse are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Monday. Both polling centers are open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on SATURDAY. And hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 8, Election Day.

 

Tread of Pioneers Museum has announced the Leckenby and Larson Award winners. Rita Herold and her family live and operate a 5th generation ranch outside Yampa. She wins the Leckenby award. The Larson Award goes to the late Marcellus Merrill, who arrived in Steamboat when he was four years old, by stagecoach in 1905. His grandson wrote a book about his grandfather’s stories and tales called, “Steamboat Springs: Memories of a Young Colorado Pioneer.”

 

The movie, “The Mountain in my Mind” is about Mental Health in the Ski Industry. It’s playing Saturday evening, Nov. 5, at 5 and 8 p.m. at Howelsen Lodge. Tickets are $10. It’s presented by REPS, which is Reaching Everyone Preventing Suicide.  Tickets are available through EventBrite.com

 

Join Book Trails for the 2022 Gala on Nov. 5, presented by Alpine Bank. It’s a James Bond-themed Murder Mystery Dinner event to raise money towards providing literacy programs for local children. Tickets are on sale now at MyBookTrails.org/Gala

 

The Holiday Craft Fair is at the Hayden Center from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5. It’s a local artisan market with something for everyone and it is free.

 

Girls on the Run of Western Colorado hosts the fall 5K in Steamboat on Saturday, Nov. 5. The run is out of Strawberry Park Elementary and it starts at 11 a.m. Sign up through GOTRWesternColorado.org

 

Daylight Savings Time is at 2 a.m. this Sunday, Nov. 5. Set your clocks back an hour.

The 42nd annual Steamboat Marathon is June 4. Alpine Bank has been named as the new presenting sponsor.

 

The Moffat County Bulldogs face the Classical Academy tonight in the CHSAA State Playoffs. The Bulldogs are 7-2, and the Titans are 8-1. That game is at 7 p.m. in Colorado Springs. Listen to Kody May make the call, on 93.7 and 102.3 KRAI or through KRAIRadio.com

 

The 6-3 Hayden Tigers are also in the 8-man CHSAA State playoffs, against Simla, also away, at 1 p.m. on Saturday. Simla is northeast of Colorado Springs, just over a four and a half hour drive from Hayden. The Simla Cubs are undefeated at 9-0.

 

In regional tournaments for volleyball playoffs,

  • The Moffat County Volleyball team plays AT Prospect Ridge Academy in Broomfield starting at 10 a.m. Saturday, and then they play Liberty Common.
  • The Steamboat Sailors play Pueblo East at 11 a.m. and then Niwot.
  • The Hayden Tigers match up against Cedaredge at 10:30 a.m. tomorrow, and then Fowler. Those games are in Fowler, which is just east of Pueblo.
