The Routt County Coroner and Sheriff’s Office have made a positive identification on the unknown human remains found near Adams Park in Northwest Routt County in September. Dental records show they are of Jacob Michael Cyr from Iowa, who was reported missing from the Rainbow Gathering. The cause of death is undetermined.

Medical supplies from Steamboat Springs are headed to the Ukraine. Doug and Lisa Renee Tumminello are headed from Poland to the border of Ukraine Monday.

Lisa Renee Tumminello is also the track and field coach at Steamboat Springs High School. She and her husband helped raise $20,000 to buy the medical supplies to take to Kyiv. She said many of her track athletes wanted to raise money to help.

After delivering the medical supplies, the Tumminellos will stay in Ukraine to help with Humanitarian efforts. They plan to be back in Steamboat around Nov. 15. They hope to continue taking trips to Ukraine to provide help however they can.

Steamboat Springs Board of Education meets at Steamboat Springs Middle School at 4:30 p.m. Monday. The school year calendar for next year will be reviewed. There will be a report on College & Career Readiness. And there is a celebration of Strawberry Park Elementary.

The Moffat County School Board has an opening. It’s for someone who lives in District B, starting in December to serve until November 2023. If you meet the qualifications, reach out to the Superintendent of Schools office for Moffat County. Prospective candidates will be interviewed on Nov. 28. For more information, call Taylor Smith at 970-826-6261.

Colorado Northwestern Community College has three new “STEM-To-Go” labs. STEM Science courses help with things like biology, chemistry, and physics. The trucks and trailers will be traveling to local school districts which might not have lab resources so they can help students receive college credits. The STEM-to-go labs and vehicles were made possible through Federal RISE Grant dollars.

Turn in your ballots. Tuesday is Election Day. Ballots need to be dropped off as it is too late for them to be mailed.

Polling centers are open until 4:30 Monday in Routt County and 4 p.m. in Moffat. Hours on Election Day are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

In state football playoffs, both Moffat County and Hayden lost their playoff games this weekend.

Cold and snowy weather greeted over 600 runners with Girls on the Run in Steamboat Springs Saturday. The girls and their families came from across the Western Slope to run a 5K on the wet and slippery roads from Strawberry Park Elementary School. One of those runners was 5th grader Makenna Comstock from Ridgeview Elementary School in Craig.
