The Drama Troupe at Steamboat Springs High School presents Rock of Ages – the School Musical, starting tonight. Junior Eva Mosher plays Hilda. She says the show is based on the plot of the Journey song, “Don’t Stop Believing.”
“It’s about these two young kids, Drew and Sherrie, who meet on the Sunset Strip in L.A. and they fall in love. And it’s also about Dennis and Lonnie, the owners of the Bourbon Room, and Hilda (myself) and my son, Franz, who are on a mission to destroy the Sunset Strip and turn it into a European vision of clean, pure, and efficient living.”
Steamboat Senior Alivia Warren plays Sherrie Christian in the musical.
“It’s a play that the older generation can enjoy and that people can know the songs, they’re really popular songs, songs that everyone in the audience can clap along to and sing to. It’s super exciting. Even I knew most of the songs when I first saw it.”
Rock of Ages – The School Musical is Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights at 7 p.m. with a special 1 p.m. matinee on Saturday. It’s $10 for general admission or $20 for VIP tickets, available at Steamboat Springs High School.
