Thanksgiving week is quickly approaching. That also means opening day at Steamboat Ski Resort. It’s Wednesday, Nov. 23.
The Champagne Powder Bell will ring at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday morning. It hasn’t been determined yet whether it will be the Christie chair or the gondola, or both. But lots of snow is helping. Then at 10 a.m. Wednesday, it’s the grand opening of Skeeter’s Rink at the base area, with a special performance from the Steamboat Figure Skating Club and free skate rentals for public skate all day. Buffalo Commons will take the stage at 2 p.m.
The Community Thanksgiving Dinner is next Thursday. Routt County United Way is expecting 600 people in the afternoon at the Steamboat Springs Community Center. They still need some food donations and help from volunteers with runners, set-up, and clean-up. Sign up through RouttCountyUnitedWay.org
Hayden Town Council meets tonight. The Mayor Pro Tem will be appointed by council members. The meeting starts at 7 p.m., on Zoom and at Hayden Town Hall.
The Vaccine Mobile Bus is at the CNCC Campus in Rangely today. This is for flu and COVID vaccines. It’s free; no ID or insurance is required.
IMPACT 100 and the Young Professionals Network meets from 5-8 p.m. tonight, at The Barley in Steamboat. Find out how a $100 donation becomes $15,000 in funding for local nonprofits. Free to attend. Food, drinks, and fun, with a chance to win great door prizes.

The Harlem Wizards are back in Craig for fun against Moffat County officials and teachers. It’s Friday, Nov. 18, at the Moffat County High School gym. The event is presented by the PAC at Sandrock Elementary.
