Expect a busy day at Yampa Valley Regional Airport tomorrow. Airport Manager Kevin Booth says Jan. 7 is expected to be the busiest day of the season, probably because people are flying in for MusicFest in Steamboat. Booth asks that if you are flying out, please get to the airport early.

“I always tell them at least two hours prior. If you’re flying out on one of our busy days, like mid-day on Saturday, Sunday or Wednesday, I would recommend 2.5 hours prior just to be sure you have plenty of time to get through TSA and get to your gate.”

Booth recommends to also check the weather conditions. About 5,500 people will be in Steamboat for MusicFest, through Jan. 12. It is the 37th year for the event which is known as “The Super Bowl of Texas Music.” MusicFest is sold out.

The Craig City Market closed on Tuesday because of roof damage from heavy snow. Staff and customers weren’t allowed in the store while the damage was being assessed and the work was being done.

City Market Corporate Office says all associates were compensated for scheduled time lost during the store closure. Spokesperson Jessica Trowbridge adds: “While the store is open there is still work to be done to repair the physical damage. The majority of this damage occurred in the front end, over the checkstands, so this area will remain out of commission. We are currently operating our self-checkouts and have also implemented a temporary checkout solution utilizing mobile registers.”

Trowbridge added, “We are thrilled to have our Craig store reopened and serving the community once again.”
