The Boys & Girls Club Youth of the Year is Macie Lahay.
“I absolutely love what I do here at the Boys & Girls Club and it means so much that I can represent them. I’m very proud.”
Macie is a senior at Steamboat Springs High School. She was awarded a $12,000 scholarship. She will be attending Bellevue Community College in Washington.
In the program for the event, Macie wrote, “Everyone at the Club is super supportive, if you have a bad day you can talk to anyone. It makes me happy coming to the Club. I did Youth of the Year last year and for me it was a huge accomplishment. I was so nervous but it was the best experience. The Club has helped me overcome my shyness, find confidence and I can now say I am comfortable being myself. I really love the Boys & Girls Club. Next year, I plan to pursue a career in pediatric nursing.”
Also up for Youth of the Year:
- Nick Wilson, a senior at Steamboat Springs High School
- Ashlyn Robson, a senior at Steamboat Springs High School
- Jasmin Daigneau, a sophomore at Goal Academy
They each win a $6,000 scholarship.
