U16 athletes from Steamboat Springs continue to get top results in international competitions. The most recent was the Pokal Loka Races in Slovenia. Caman Beauregard and Katharina Cosby both finished on the podium in giant slalom. Cosby took third in slalom. Beauregard was in first after the first run but ended up placing 8th overall.

Amazing results for Cosby and Beauregard follow stellar results by teammates in Europe in January
STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, Colo. – SSWSC athletes Caman Beauregard and Katharina Cosby had podium results at Pokal Loka races in Slovenia last weekend, February 11 and 12. On Saturday, Cosby placed 2nd in the giant slalom races, and Beauregard placed 3rd. The next day in the slalom races, Cosby again took a spot on the podium, placing 3rd overall. Beauregard was 1st after run one, but after a mistake, he ended up finishing in the top 10 placing 8th overall.
This follows the stellar performances of their SSWSC teammates in the Opa U16 Cup in January when SSWSC athletes took home six podiums out of twelve podium places in the giant slalom (GS) races and placed 1st and 2nd in the slalom races. On the first day of GS races, Logan Grosdidier was 1st, and Abby Olson was 3rd for the women. For the men, Adrian Beauregard stood on top of the podium, taking the win. On the second day of GS, Logan Grosdidier was 2nd, Abby Olsen was 3rd, and Adrian Beauregard was 2nd. Abby Olson also won the slalom race and teammate Logan Grosdidier was 2nd.
All five Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club athletes were invited to continue the development track and compete in Europe based on results at U16 Nationals and performances at U14 and U16 Rocky Central Junior Championships last spring. Logan Grosdidier, Abby Olson, and Adrian Beauregard qualified for the OPA Cup in Berchtesgaden, Germany, and Katharina Cosby and Caman Beauregard qualified to compete in Pokal Loka in Slovenia.
Racers now head to the Rocky/Central U16 Junior Championships in Winter Park, CO, March 6-10, where they will compete for spots to race in U16 Nationals in Mission Ridge, WA, April 3-7, 2023
