Deep among the snowy neighborhood of Old Town Steamboat Springs, there is a hidden haven of chilly coziness. It’s a huge snow cave hideaway, built by Harris Greene. He has been working on it since October.
“We have seating for nine, plenty of standing room, a nice bar. We put lights in all the walls. (Why do you like to do this?) Therapy! And I don’t like being inside. I realized that this year. I always get to say I played in the snow.”
The big snow cave fills the yard, with a tunnel for an entrance with disco lights, plenty of seating around the fire pit, a bar, firewood, and a mounted antelope head. It’s a wintery gathering place for friends and neighbors in Old Town Steamboat Springs.
