Tuesday, Feb. 28, is the deadline for paying the first half of your property taxes. This is for taxpayers in all counties in Colorado, who pay their taxes in two equal installments. The second half is due June 15.

Here’s more from Routt County Treasurer and Public Trustee, Lane Iacovetto, with information for Moffat County as well.

FIRST HALF PROPERTY TAX DEADLINE REMINDER

Routt County Treasurer and Public Trustee Lane Iacovetto reminds taxpayers that Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2023 is the deadline for paying the first half of your property taxes. This deadline is for taxpayers who pay their taxes in two equal installments; the second half is due June 15. Taxpayers who choose to pay the full amount in one payment must pay by April 30. Payment coupons were mailed with the original tax notice in January.

For your convenience, there are several ways to make your payment.

  • Property taxes can be paid online by credit/debit card or electronic check. There are no fees for electronic check payments.
  • You may also mail payments to Routt County Treasurer, 522 Lincoln Ave. Suite 22, Steamboat Springs, CO 80487, payments mailed with a US Postal Service postmark on or before February 28 will be considered timely.
  • Moffat County Treasurer payments can be mailed to P.O. 6, Craig, CO  81626.
  • If you would like to pay in person, the Routt County office is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or drop it off in our secure 24-hour drop box located in the alleyway of the historical downtown courthouse at 522 Lincoln Ave. in Steamboat Springs.
  • The Moffat County office is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Payments can be dropped off in the 24-hour drop box in front of the Moffat County courthouse.
