A Celebration of Life is this Sunday for Lexi Lighthizer-Brown. The 14-year-old from Hayden, died Feb. 21 in a car crash on Hwy 40. The Celebration of Life is in the new gym at Hayden High School at 1 p.m. this Sunday, March 5.
The Vaccine Bus is back in Routt County. It’s at the Routt County Fairgrounds in Hayden from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on today, March 3. Then it’s at the Stockbridge Transit Center in Steamboat, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The COVID-19 and flu vaccines are free. Just stop on by.
Yampa Valley Community Foundation is taking nominations for the 2023 Philanthropist of the Year. This is for Individual, Youth, and Business. Submit your nomination at YVCF.org before May 20.
Colorado Parks & Wildlife is offering a Hunter Safety Course this weekend (March 4-5). The two-day course is at the Routt County Rifle Club.
Colorado Fishing Licenses are available. It’s good now through the end of March next year. Order online through the Colorado Parks and Wildlife website or from the nearest CPW office.
The Colorado Crane Coalition is already saying to look to the skies. The contest is on to see who can be the first to spot a Greater Sandhill Crane returning to nest here in Northwest Colorado. This is from South Routt to North Routt, Steamboat Springs to Craig, and over to West Moffat. Take a picture and send it to Info@ColoradoCranes.org and you may win some big prizes.

The Steamboat Sailors are in the Frozen Four of the CHSAA 4A State Hockey Playoffs. The #2 ranked Sailors match up against the #3 ranked Cheyenne Mountain. Craig Cougar Hockey is having a pancake breakfast fundraiser Saturday morning. It’s from 8-11 a.m. upstairs at the Craig VFW. It’s $5.
This weekend, swing by the Bashor Run at Steamboat Resort. It’s the Rocky Mountain Freestyle Ski Town USA Freestyle Qualifier series and DEVO Moguls Competition. Sunday is a USASA Halfpipe Comp.
