The online application process to apply for a Short-Term Rental (STR) License within the City of Steamboat Springs is now live, as of March 6. Any Short-Term Rental property must get a license which is good for one year and needs to be renewed annually. The cost is $250. The deadline to get a license is April 30, 2023.

Steamboat Springs City Council meets this evening. The City Manager Report from Gary Suiter includes a shoutout to the streets team for their extra work on the Winter Carnival Street Events. He says registration is open for Spring Adult Hockey. The rink will be shut down for maintenance May 8 through June 4. The city is planning for summer programs, including Adult Softball, Adult Volleyball, the Town Challenge Bike Race Series and more. There are also youth programs and summer camps. Council reports include a progress report on the Brown Ranch Annexation Committee and a Chamber Destination Management Update.

Visit Moffat County and the Moffat County Tourism Association meet Wednesday afternoon. Agenda items include Tourism Days May 4-8 and a discussion of the 2023 Colorado Official Vacation Guide. The Marketing Committee will also discuss the domains of VisitCraig.com, VisitMaybell.com, and VisitDinosaur.com
Colorado Northwestern Community College sends word from their Aviation Technology and Flight program of four CNCC graduates being hired on at United Airlines, with two more Aviation Maintenance students waiting for jobs at United after graduation.
High School juniors and seniors will visit the CNCC campus in Craig on March 17 and the campus in Rangely on March 24 to find out more about CNCC and their programs like aviation, the Park Ranger Academy, their Dental Hygiene program, and cyber security majors.

The Contest for the First Crane Sighting of the Season is underway. It’s for any sandhill crane spotted anywhere in Northwest Colorado. Who will see one first? Take a picture to document it and send the proof to info@coloradocranes.org.

Hear all about Sandhill Cranes at a special presentation at the Oak Creek Library tomorrow. Erin Gelling with the Colorado Crane Conservation Coalition will present Migrating with Sandhill Cranes: A Crane’s Journey to the Yampa Valley. It’s at 5 p.m. Wednesday at the Oak Creek Library on Main Street.
