The roof of the metal building between the Yampa River Core Trail and 13th Street in Steamboat Springs has collapsed. This is on property owned by Union Pacific Railroad.

Today there is a statewide effort to stop distracted driving. Colorado State Patrol troopers will be focusing on Highway 40. Watch the speed limits, don’t pick up your cell phone, don’t eat behind the wheel, never drive impaired by alcohol or drugs, and always buckle up.

A Safety Task Force is in Steamboat Springs from the United States Postal Service in Denver.
“We do whatever is needed to be done. We help out wherever we can.”
Desiree is on the Safety Task Force for the postal service. She and a crew are in Steamboat Springs right now, to help at the local post office. They first checked out the parking lot to make sure it is safe and then moved inside.
“Right now, it’s just to make sure that the area is safe for customers to walk through the lobbies and into the box area, making sure that its presentable. This is a federal institution here. We want to look the part. So we’re here to make sure we are a shining star out here in Steamboat.”
The Safety Task Force comes to a local post office to help whenever and however they are needed.

The Bud Light Rocks The Boat Free Concert Series at Steamboat Resort starts Saturday. Shows start around 3:30 p.m. on the stage in Steamboat Square and they are FREE. Saturday, it is J & the Causeways.
The Sailor Soccer season kicks off Saturday for the girls team at Steamboat Springs High School. Here’s Head Coach Rob Bohlmann.
“The girls are really good. We’re really picking up the pieces from last year and working to make it our own. We’ve got a lot of work to do to find our rhythm, coming in and transferring from playing in a tight space in the gym and finally getting outdoors, and we’re looking forward to our opening match.”
The Sailors Girls Soccer team plays at noon Saturday, at Palisade High School.
The Moffat County Girls have their first game at home against Grand Valley on March 28.

The Family Development Center is hosting Casino Night Silent Auction and Vegas Style Games Saturday evening at the Steamboat Grand Ballroom. The event is held to support affordable childcare in Routt County.
Community Ag Alliance is offering a tour of the Yampa Valley Ranch and Whispering Willows Ranch. It’s a way to learn about Routt County Cattle Production in the winter and springtime preparations. Details are at CommunityAgAlliance.org
